Countries

We understand that the rainforests are deteriorating. However, when we are billions of dollars of debt and familes to feed it is difficult for us to think about what will happen in 15 years if we are unable to fee our families next week. We want to raise our standard of living. If the rainforests can be useful to us, why should we not benefit from them?

Environmentalists

We cannot begin to describe how disgusted we are with human greed. We MUST do something to stop deforestation. We all need to join together and let the corporation know we will NOT stand for this. We need to increase our conservation efforts as well as find alternatives for our natural resources.

Indigenous people

This our my home. This has been our families' home for centuries. More and more of our home land is being taken away by deforestation. We have learned to live off of the land with our doing harm to the plants and animals. However, times are tough more and more of us are being swayed to clear our own homeland to make money and keep up with the changing times. We are caught in the middle and not sure what to do.

Scientists

Any scientist will tell you that we need the rainforests simply to live. They give us oxygen which is crucial for our survival. However, there are so many more things that the rainforest can provide us. Could there be a cure for cancer? Who knows? Once the trees are gone it will be too late.

The Corporations

We are the corporations that need to continue cutting down the Rainforests. The population keeps growing thus there is an increase need for lumber forcing us to cut down trees. We need more lumber but we also need more land to raise cattle and other animals to feed the world. What else are we to do?
